The Teaboy and the Teaboy Junior were manufactured by Teesmade Engineering at Lansbury Drive in around 1954. These were distributed through wholesalers. The advert shown in the gallery features in a 1954 wholesale catalogue, in which the price was £13.3.0.
The Teaboy had a Smiths Sectric Autocal clock/lamp in ivory finish. It was automatic, self starting, reset itself and needed no winding. The Teaboy had a chrome plated teapot and 2 pint capacity chrome kettle. The bodywork was aluminium with a ‘special washable finish’.
Doug writes that he found this advert for the Smiths Sectric Autocal clock in an edition of Country Life dated October 1950.
