2015 to 2025 Barisieur™ by Josh Renouf Design

I rather liked the Barisieur™, a unique version of the teasmade from product designer Josh Renouf. This extraordinary gadget harked back to the bubbling steam pressure principles of Victorian coffee syphons (somehow managing to avoid looking like a chemistry set), referenced the classic Swan DO1 along the way, and ended up as an undeniably sleek and artistic bedside machine. Nice work!

The Barisieur™ addressed one of the commonest concerns people have about teasmades – keeping the milk cold overnight. It featured the world’s smallest mini-fridge! Another nice touch was the ‘brew delay’ button on the side. When this was set, the Barisieur™ woke you up 5 minutes before the alarm.

Joy Resolve went out of business in early 2025, announcing the closure on social media after an "incredible journey" building their innovative coffee-making alarm clocks, with official filings showing Joy Resolve in liquidation. Joshua Renouf cited challenges from the economic landscape, rising costs, and tariffs that made operations unsustainable despite efforts to find investment or acquisition. The company closed its website and operations, impacting customers who faced issues with orders and support.
