Automatic Utilities

Automatic Utilities Ltd was George Absolom‘s first known company. Sadly Companies House retains no details of this company.

On May 2nd 1932 George submitted an application for a patent on his invention, an electric automatic tea maker, soon to be marketed as the Teesmade. The Patent (number 400672) was passed on November 2nd 1933.

Soon the name of the company was changed to Teesmade Co. Automatic Utilities Ltd was wound up in 1934 (the Court File is available at the National Archives, ref J13/14001). A notice that the company was to be dissolved was published by the London Gazette on May 13th 1938.
