Sunbeam
Sunbeam Products is an American brand that has produced electric home appliances since 1910. In 1997 Sunbeam reported massive increases in sales for its various backyard and kitchen items. Dunlap purchased a controlling interest in Signature Brands, which included Mr Coffee, during this time.
But Sunbeam was in severe crisis. It emerged that Dunlap had engineered a massive accounting fraud, and he was ultimately banned from serving again as an officer or director of a public company. In 2002 Sunbeam emerged from bankruptcy as American Household Inc (AHI), a privately held company. Its former household products division became the subsidiary Sunbeam Products Inc. AHI was purchased in September 2004 by the Jarden Corporation, of which it is now a subsidiary.
In 2006 Sunbeam Products, Inc., doing business as Jarden Consumer Solutions, marketed the Sunbeam Zarafina Tea Maker. There is no alarm on this model. It is a steeper made to accommodate both loose
and bagged tea at the optimum time and temperature for each.
