1953 Goblin D24 Tele-T
The Goblin D24 Tele-T was a compact model which was introduced in 1953 and discontinued in 1958. This model was clearly marketed for use in the living room, so that you could make a cup of tea without leaving the comfort of your armchair or missing your favourite TV show, perfect for watching the coronation!
The construction was pressed steel. It featured a kettle, buzzer, and on-off switch. There was no clock or alarm feature. The instructions read, “10 minutes before tea is required depress the switch on the front of the Tele-T.” We have traced very few examples of this teasmade in the UK. The one illustrated is Goblin D24 Tele T serial number 8696, found in Tasmania.
