Exact date unknown but must fall between 1954 and 1967. I believe this was the third model based on Registered Design number 858238, which was registered in 1950. The patent number was 661601 published on 21st November 1951. There were 4000 and 4000CH models.

In November 1960 Practical Mechanics Magazine featured an article on building two bedside teamakers, one primarily wooden, the other metal. The blueprint uses a hotplate to heat the water in a “Timothy Whites” picnic kettle and the suggested clock is a “Jock” alarm clock “from a well known chain store”
